Kennedy (Joseph P.) is born in East Boston.

The son of P.J. and Bridget (Murphy) Kennedy, Joseph Kennedy grows up at 151 Meridian Street, attends Our Lady of Assumption School, and graduates from Boston Latin School and Harvard College, where is captain of the baseball team and earns spending money by giving historic tours of Boston. He marries Rose Fitzgerald in 1914,* and becomes a successful businessman on Wall Street and in Hollywood. Kennedy serves as U.S. Ambassador to England, and is the father of a U.S. president and two U.S. Senators. He dies in Hyannisport on November 18, 1969, and is buried at Holyhood Cemetery in Brookline.
